52 Fridays – Week 10

Posted on March 9, 2012

Our word for this week is “Season”.    This is graduation season as well as wedding season in our house.  All we see are these $$$$$’s going out of our pockets.  Preston seems a little shocked himself doesn’t he?    He graduates in 64 days and a 100 days from today,  he will be a married man.  YIKES!!   Along with these two milestones, he is currently studying for part 2 of the CPA exam.   He has 3 more parts to take and hopes to have all those behind him before he starts work in July.  No rest for Preston in this season of his life – FOR SURE :(

All kidding aside, we are so proud of Preston and although we will shed a tear as he leaves,  are happy to give him his wings to fly.  We know God has BIG plans for he and Alex and we cannot wait to see what each new day brings for them.   Love you both :)

Now head over and check out what is green in Christine Blaylock life.

52 Fridays – Week 9

Posted on March 2, 2012

One morning this week as the sun came up,  I had to get my macro lens out and give these rain drops a shot :)   I love the way sun reflects off  of water.   Look close and you can see the reflection of pansies in the water drop.  I thought this was a perfect “shiny” for our photo challenge this week.

As always I know  the amazing Jenn Duguay an Alberta Photographer will have a stunning photo of shiny.  Hurry over and check out her blog to see what she has for us.

52 Fridays – Week 8

Posted on February 24, 2012

Time, it does pass quickly.  I can remember my dad always telling me as you age, time will seem to pass even more quickly.  I must say that at this point in my life, I cannot imagine it passing by any faster than at the current rate.  As I thought about “time” many things came to mind but what I decided on was Wedding Time.  That time is fast approaching here at my house for the second time within seven months.  I found this little bride and groom and knew it would be a perfect decoration for the big wedding day in June, of my son Preston & soon to be daughter, Alex.  Lots of excitement going on around here :)

Now head over and see what time Kimberlee Edwards, a Cary NC Photographer has captured for us.

52 Fridays – Week 7

Posted on February 17, 2012

Ahh, this week is pink!  Well that is my favorite color and despite all boys in my household, I try to throw in as much pink as possible.  Most of those things around my house are boring so I headed out to buy some jelly beans for our candy dish.  Easter is just around the corner you know and  the fuzzy pink monkey – well what else would you expect for Valentine’s :)

Now head over to Viviana Serrano, Westchester, New York  to check out her pink.

52 Fridays – Week 6

Posted on February 10, 2012

Love is our photo challenge this week.  Gotta LOVE this boy!!  Yes that is right, this is my baby and I love him dearly.  He will be getting married to the sweetest girl, Alex in June of this year and leaving the nest.  I have to say,  I am so proud of my both my sons and the fine young men they have become.

Preston is finishing up his Master’s in Accounting and will graduate in May.  He is also studying for the CPA exam which he will begin taking at the end of this month.  He is following in his dad’s footsteps as well as his older brother,  Josh.  Wow a lot of accountants around here!! Josh, my oldest son,  and his new wife, Mary Grace were married this past November and are loving married life.  Steve and I are so happy with our growing family.

Before Preston left for class this morning I told him he had to help me with my photo.  He is such a trooper and puts up with all my antics, well only for a little while longer.  I guess in June I will have to come up with other things to shoot – no more kids at home. :(

Just a note: I often see all the adorable photos of your young children and it makes me wish I would have learned a little more about photography when they were small.  I have lots of pictures because I always LOVED to take pictures, but believe me when I say they are pictures- not photographs.  The truth is,  they are still all my memories and I cherish them dearly.  So all I am telling you is cherish each moment with your children – they grow so quickly.

Now check out what LOVE Kimberlee Edwards a Cary, NC Photographer  has in store for us!

52 Fridays – Week 5

Posted on February 2, 2012

On the shelf – umm!  What to shoot for this one?   It was my challenge for this week and as I was cleaning around my house I had a “light bulb” moment.

This winter has NOT been winter at all here in NC.  Today was 70 degrees and just beautiful.  Of course, this is not the norm for this time of year for sure,  but I am loving it.  I play tennis and normally hate this time of year because it is not too cold to play.  Needless to say I am loving this winter and I hope it does not snow in March now that I am saying this . . . . . . SHhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I  love to collect snowmen and I display them from November until March normally – well not this year.  I decided I would take their picture and say I “BELIEVE” that winter is behind us so I can put them away until winter 2012!  I am just so ready for spring now that is feels like spring, I want the calendar to say it is spring.  So snowmen – until next winter – SEE YA!!

Now head over and see what Tracy Waye Kelly, Miramichi, NB Photographer http://www.tracywayekelly.blogspot.com has on her shelf!

This week was all about warmth.  Wednesday was just a perfect day here in North Carolina.  The sun was so warm and the day so beautiful, that I decided to take a walk with my camera and these are just a couple things that I captured while enjoying the day.

Now head over and feel the warmth that Geneviève Flynn, Sussex NB, Canada Photographer http://blog.genevieveflynnphotography.com has to offer us.  I know it will be beautiful.

52 Fridays – Week 3

Posted on January 20, 2012

This week our photo challenge – WORDS.  When I read this I had so many words go through my head, but next came the part about taking a photo of them.  The week seem to get away from me and today I was thinking what can I do.  These words are still up in my house and they bring comfort to my family.  We just celebrated Christmas and Jesus Christ birthday.  When you read in the Book of Isaiah of the coming King you read these words that you find on the plaque in the photo.  The Bible is a book that has so many words, words that comfort, words that heal, words that bring peace to you, words that show Christ love for you and for me, just to say a few.  This book is my favorite so I thought I would share these words with you.  Now head over to Amy Ames, Holly Springs, NC Photographer, http://www.amyamesphotography.com to see what words she has to share with us all.

52 Fridays – Week 2

Posted on January 13, 2012

This week our buzz word is landscape.  Today as I was driving around town to try and find the perfect spot, this spot came to mind.  I pass the old barn quite often and love it.  It sits on a very busy road but when you look across the landscape at  this peaceful barn, doesn’t it make you wonder what went on there so many years ago.  This farm I am sure was a working farm and I have heard that they plan to tear this beautiful barn down at some point in the near future.  It saddens me to see our landscapes changing so much with less and less green space.  Today was an absolute beautiful day and I really wanted to go over and sit in the grass and read a book, but since this was not my property thought I better drive on.  I hope you enjoy!

Now hurry over to Christa Paustenbaugh, Manassas, VA Christa Paustenbaugh, Manassas, VA  http://thepaustenbaughs.typepad.com (sorry  but my link was not working so please click on her link)  to check out her beautiful  landscape.
