This week we were to focus on Growth: Have you grown in talent, faith, family? Do you have a growth chart in your home for your kids? Plants? I really thought about this question this week and feel that I have grown in many ways.  As a mother, wife, daughter, photographer, in my faith, as a neighbor.  You reach a point in your life and you say how do I grow each day?  We need to always be growing in something.  I have learned so much in the past six months in photography.  I have a LONG ways to go, but am always excited to learn new things.  I try and challenge myself to stretch outside the box each day.  That is not easy because I live in a comfort zone and reaching outside that zone is sometimes overwhelming.  I am thankful that the Lord has given me a mind that I can expand each day, filling it first with His Word.  Meeting so many new ladies that share the common interest of photography, it is a blast.  All these things and the growth that I really think about is in my family.

Josh will be getting married in November and I will gain a daughter.  Steve and I are so excited and we love her dearly.   I am  a little sad to see him go but I know that I must let him spread his wings and take flight.  I look at him and say, Where has the time gone?   I know he will be a great husband, a wonderful loving dad and the spiritual leader of his household.  I am so thankful for his relationship with the Lord and that he knows it takes Three in a marriage.  That has always been my words to him, remember to keep God first and all things will be given to you. :)  He will be moving to Charlotte soon and making his home there with Mary Grace.  I will miss seeing him each day but  I am so proud of the man you have become!  Blessings to you Josh!  Mom and dad love you!  PS:  always gotta take a photo of Gracie.  She loves Josh and is going to miss him too! :(

Now head over and see what Ginger Unzueta, Camp Lejeune, NC has grown in this year!

Wow, I cannot believe it is week 22.  When I typed that,  I had to give myself a pat on the back.  To set a goal, have a new challenge each week and to stick with it, well that is an accomplishment for me.  I hope to continue to do the same each week hereafter.

This week we are to reflect on Fatherly Love: Your dad, Your husband, another father figure?

This day always brings back such fond memories to me.  I truly was a daddy’s girl if there ever was one!  I went everywhere with my dad and he always told everyone I was his shadow.  He had a way of always making my face light up.   So as I thought about ways that I could share my dad with you,  I decided to put together a few things that make me smile when I see them.  My dad was an upholsterer by trade and the one thing I still have in my house that he upholstered, is this goose neck rocker.  It is old, worn and tattered but he covered it for Steve and I when we got married 28 years ago.  I sometimes think about recovering it but cannot make myself do it.  The photo sitting on the chair is at my wedding and of course that is me kissing my dad.  My dad has been gone from this earth for almost 26 years, and I still miss him.  There are days I would love to call him up and chat with him.  One day dad, I will see and talk with you again :)

He was a HUGE North Carolina fan.  Steve attended UNC, Chapel Hill and was able to take my dad to some football games and basketball games, the man was in heaven.  He LOVED it!   So to say that I CHERISH all these memories is an understatement.  I am sad that my boys never got a chance to meet my dad, but they too know all about him through me.  I love you daddy!!

Treasure: What is your greatest treasure? What do you value the most? First I must apologize for being late posting today.  My hubby came home last night and it has thrown my week off.   I told the boys that I wanted to take a picture of them and dad for my greatest earthly treasure.  It is near impossible to get them all together so this picture was taken on Mother’s Day at Preston’s graduation.  These three fellows are my true treasures.  I love them all unconditionally and I am so thankful for each one every day.  Just a side note, they all felt really important to be in the photo over Gracie. :)

Desire: What do you desire, Is it tangible? Is it a goal? My goal is to take the photograph that my eyes see.  I see things so clearly and so often I take the picture and it is not that clear.  My goal over this year is to improve my skills in photography.  I want to work on composition, sharpness, creativity, exposure . . . . . well I guess you get it, everything.  I am thankful for a wonderful mentor who not only encourages me, she has tons of patience!    Thanks to each of you for your kind words as well, they are appreciated.  I am always excited on Friday’s to see what everyone else sees :)

Now hurry on over and see what  Nancy Schumacher Thompson of ND desires.

I can see you! (Preston's eye)
